Biome Eco Store

When I began my journey into swapping out single use products, I found so many amazing companies dedicated to educating the world on the benefits of sustainable, eco friendly products and bought from a range of these brands to see what kind of long term products I wanted to have in my home.

Biome definitely topped my list on product range, diversity and availability when it came to products offered on their website and as a delved deeper into their message for a cleaner earth, I knew I had to become a part of their affiliate program. It's easy for me to say that I think I've found my eco friendly soul mate in Biome! Not only are they a company created in my home country, Australia, but their whole brand surrounds an ethical, toxin free, waste free motto that really resonates with me.

Environmental Toothbrush

While my very first bamboo toothbrush came from another wonderful Australian brand, my second toothbrush came from Biome (along with a travel tooth brush holder and a nut milk bag!).

I knew when I threw out my plastic tooth brush over a year ago, to trial a bamboo toothbrush, it was going to be an interesting process. I never expected to love the bamboo so much though. It took a little while to get used to using the feel of the bamboo in my mouth and I trialed a soft and medium bristled brush to find which cleaned better for me. I found the soft just a little too soft for me as it is a lot softer than the standard 'soft' plastic toothbrush.

The Environmental Toothbrush is Australian owned and they are committed to sustainability in all their work. The toothbrush itself is made from MOSO bamboo which is a plant cellulose fibre which makes the handle of the brush biodegradable and means it will break down and compost in landfill or can be thrown into your own composting pile. The bristles, however, are not 100% plastic free or 100% biodegradable, as it is not possible to make bristles from 100% bamboo or plant oil as there will always be some amount of petrochemical binder to hold everything together, so please remove the bristles before composting and place them in your regular bin. You can get these toothbrushes in bulk packs or singles in Adult Soft, Adult Medium, Children's Soft and Charcoal.

I now stock up on the medium toothbrushes (I have even converted all three of my family members to bamboo!) which you can get in a pack of 12 and each box is made from recycled paper with not a hint of plastic in sight.

Biome Bamboo Toothbrush Travel Holder Plastic Free

I love my bamboo tooth brush holder - I have no other words - I will never use a plastic one again! It's light and doesn't take up any more space than the traditional plastic toothbrush holder. It is made from MOSO bamboo, like the handles of the bamboo toothbrush, and is heat treated and unvarnished. The product is 100% plastic free and vegan so it will break down over time. It is L 21.5cm x W 2.5cm (external), W 2.1cm (internal) with 4mm drainage/airflow holes at the top and bottom and is designed to hold the environmental toothbrush.

Ever Eco Nut Milk Bag

I have not used the nut milk bag yet so I have no currently views on the bag itself but I can say that the packaging is recyclable paper and it contains no plastic surrounding the product on the inside of the box.

The product features on the website state that the bag is crafter from hygienic food-grade BPA free nylon and is a U-shaped design, with no corners, making it easier to make your milk and clean the bag after use. The dimensions of the bag are W 26.5cm x L 28cm. Its recommended uses are: sprouting, cashew cheese, cold brew coffee, straining juice or kefir, and more.

So far I'm loving biomes products (and have several more items now since my first purchase) and I cannot wait to continue sharing my buys with you all.
